A volunteer waiver must be signed by all participants (by parents/guardians for minors). This can either be signed at the event, or you can print them and bring them with you to the event.
The Dam Overlook in Hamilton will not be a cleanup site this year due to constuction. To find an alternate place to volunteer, please visit our Locations Page.
For the past several years the southern section of the Great Miami River Cleanup has been inundated with rain and experienced flooding at several sites raising safety concerns. Why not hold the event in the summer you may ask. Well, those of you that have been around since the early days will remember when we held the event in July. The weeds were tall, the mosquitoes were out, and it was HOT! Therefore, we have decided to try November 2. Sure we may hit some weather issues, but hopefully it will be an improvement over May or July. We hope you will join us, so please mark your calendars for November 2.
We have 11 great locations where you can join us. Find out about the location nearest you.

What is the Great Miami River Clean Up?
The Great Miami River Cleanup is a volunteer event focused on removing trash and restoring the health of the Great Miami River. This cleanup is an annual event coordinated by many partners and held in November in the lower region of the river and in July in the upper reaches.
Why is it Important?
The Great Miami River Cleanup is about much more than picking up trash. It’s a day for communities to demonstrate their desire for clean water and healthy rivers. It’s an opportunity to learn about our river, and it’s a time to come together with your families, your neighbors, your community, and your friends to accomplish something vital and worthy on behalf of our Great Miami River.
How can you participate?
Participating in the Great Miami River Cleanup is easy! Select a location near you to find out more site specific info including times, exact location, and contact person..
It is recommended for groups to pre-register to make sure we have enough t-shirts and scout patches.
Please note that all 18 year olds and under must have a parent or guardian sign a release. Adults can complete their release at the event. In addition, children under 14 years of age cannot be left unsepervised.
If you don’t see a cleanup near you and want to get one started, call Lynn White at (513) 887-3720 for assistance.
